The Addictions Research Institute (INID) in the promotion of the scientific findings on addictive behaviors publishing the journal Health and Addictions (Salud y Drogas) to being a reference point for researchers and proffesionals working on addictive behaviors. Furthermore, this journal would be a meeting place for professionals from different disciplines, opening a wide range of different approaches from both basic and applied research.

The journal Health and addictions (Salud y drogas) (ISSN: 1578-5319) was created in 2001 by the Institute for Drug Research (INID) at the Miguel Hernández University (Spain), with the aim of promoting and disseminating research results on the drug addiction and other addictive disorders from a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach. Furthermore, it was created to refine the methods and therapeutic techniques on this field, developing a critical vision about the drug addiction’s phenomenon and promoting scientific cooperation from the commitment to ethics and human rights between researchers, teachers, scholars and addictive behavior specialists.

In this sense, articles about drug treatment, prevention, as well as, epidemiological studies, basic descriptive studies about drug addiction and other addictive behaviors are published on the journal Health and addictions (Salud y drogas).

At this time, I welcome you to the Health and Addictions journal on behalf of the Editorial Team. We hope that you find among its pages the inputs and responses necessaries to keep moving forward. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to participate with your contributions too.
Whether the duty of everyone is to present and to disseminate our work and research outcomes, this Journal will give us the opportunity to publish and to keep in touch with the research of different national and international professionals that enrich our everyday life in the addictions and health field.
